Municipal Library of Jablonec nad Nisou
Municipal library is a public library of regional character. It builds the universal book collection, providing extensive bibliographical, cultural and educational information. It has got many functions such as a consulting and methodical centre related to the net of public libraries in the district of Jablonec nad Nisou.
A Seat of the Municipal Library
Old Town Hall - a three-storey building with its typical tower which was built by the builder named Gustav Sacher during 1867 - 1869. Originally it was a seat of the self-government. This building is situated at the northern side of the square "Dolní náměstí". It was also the main post office and later the seat of the district authorities. In the 1930s when the new town hall was built, the municipal library was moved to the building of the old town hall and it has stayed here till now.
